FedEx and WRI Ross Center are working together with the common goal to catalyze sustainable urban transport solutions to improve the quality of life for people in Brazil, India and Mexico. Both WRI Ross Center and FedEx recognized early on that the business of moving people is remarkably similar to the business of moving packages, and both organizations can learn from each one another. This collaboration was crystalized in the Mobility and Accessibility Program (MAP). MAP’s strategy is to leverage FedEx’s extensive know-how such as vehicle patterns, transport technology, and driver safety in order to accelerate the ability of EMBARQ—now WRI Ross Center for Sustainable Cities—to help cities create mobility and access to marketplaces, jobs, schools and community in ways that minimize environmental impacts.
