Atul is the Operations Manager II for the EMBARQ Program. He supports the program with strategic financial management, program management, operations, human resources, and external relations. Atul leads EMBARQ’s global Operations Practice Area, building operational capacity within the centers, enabling a co-learning environment, leading development of operational policies, and ensuring effective collaboration and coordination. Prior to joining WRI, Atul supported business development and financial management efforts on local governance, decentralization, and housing policies at the Urban Institute in Washington DC. Atul previously served for a leading consulting firm Total Management Services in Nepal. He worked extensively with projects funded by the Asian Development Bank, World Bank, USAID, DANIDA, and DFID. Atul has a Masters in Global Policy Studies with specialization in International Development from the LBJ School of Public Affairs, University of Texas at Austin. He also holds an MBA from Kathmandu University. He speaks English, Nepali, Hindi, and Newari. His passions include music (basically southern and classic rock), tennis, and/or watching anything funny.
