Daizong Liu is China Transport Program Director at World Resources Institute, providing strategic management to sustainable cities and transport work in China. He leads and provides technical guidance to a team of professionals working for the implementation of projects in China under WRI Sustainable Cities strategy, developing environmentally, socially, and financially sustainable solutions for Chinese cities.
Prior to joining WRI, Daizong served as Senior Program Manager of China Sustainable Transportation Center, partner with the Energy Foundation, participating in a number of national public transportation development policies, guidelines, standards, and research preparation. He has also worked for Singapore CPG consultancy company as transportation planner and project manager. Daizong is also a distinguished expert involved in developing a “Transit Metropolis” work plan for many Chinese cities. The theory of CSTOUR (Comprehensive Solution for Transit Oriented Urban Redevelopment) was established by him as well.
Daizong holds a Master degree in transportation engineering from the National University of Singapore, and Bachelor degree in Traffic Engineering, from the Southeast University.
He is also the owner of a non-profit social media platform at WeChat (Chinese version of “What’s App”) named SustainableCity, bringing a group of 70 passionate professional volunteers to promote sustainable urban development. The platform has attracted over 13,000 followers today.
