Fairuz is the Climate Change Manager at WRI Mexico. She is responsible for collaborating on the development of project proposals and studies on adaptation to the impacts of climate change and mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions, at national, sub-national and sectoral levels.
Fairuz served as Technical Advisor in the Sustainable Energy Program for the GIZ, has been a subject professor at the Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico City and Associate Researcher at the Center for Business and Environment (CBEY) and at the Center for Industrial Ecology (CIE ) from Yale University. In 2018, she was selected to participate in the UNLEASH Innovation Lab program in Singapore and in 2015 as EDF Climate Corps Fellow at Legrand North America. She was a member of the delegation of the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) at the conference on climate change (COP21) in Paris, France. She collaborated for four and a half years as an Advisor in the Undersecretariat of Electricity of the Ministry of Energy of Mexico.
Fairuz graduated with honors from the Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico City with a Mechatronics and Production Engineer degree. She holds a Masters in Environmental Management with a specialization in Energy and Environment from Yale University.
