Julián is the Climate, Energy, and Finance Research Intern for the Sustainable Cities Program. He works to support the research and development of a global tool for the Delivering Sustainable Urban Services project. He also helps collect, organize, and analyze innovative ways cities have delivered successful bike sharing systems, transit-oriented developments, and efficient building investments. Julián also leads the media and outreach of the workshop news items, and provides program support for workshop events locally and abroad.
Julián previously worked in finance and accounting, supporting and managing the finances and procurement of the National Academies Press, the Science and Entertainment Exchange, and the Ambassadors and Engineering Program within the National Academy of Sciences. He also holds experience in financial inclusion and microfinance, where he supported the outreach and finance team of the Center for Financial Inclusion.
He holds a BBA in finance from the University of Puerto Rico. Currently, he is a Master’s of Science in Sustainability Management candidate from the Kogod School of Business at American University.
During his free time he enjoys playing sports, and traveling. He also spends time working on visual arts, including painting, drawing, and graphic design.
