Katherine A. Peinhardt is a Communications Assistant at the WRI Ross Center for Sustainable Cities. She conducts research and creates content regarding urban sustainability, transit-oriented development, and low-carbon approaches to growth, and supports the Global Director in production of content, media engagement, internal and external communications, and preparation for public events.
Katherine previously held research and development assistant internships with the World Policy Institute and the Urban Climate Change Research Network. She also acted as an Urban Climate Policy Research Assistant for ICLEI-USA, and a Communications and Translation Intern for the International Research Institute for Climate and Society, under the Earth Institute at Columbia University.
Katherine holds a B.A. from the University of Connecticut in both Spanish and International Relations, with a concentration on the politics of the environment and development. She also holds an M.A. in Climate and Society from Columbia University, focusing on climate resilience, urban development, and environmental policy. Katherine enjoys running, playing capoeira, and practicing her Spanish and German.
