The Sixteenth International Conference of Urban Transport (CODATU XVI) will be held from February 2 to 5, 2015 in Istanbul, Turkey. EMBARQ's Benoit Lefevre and Dario Hidalgo are on the conference's Steering Committee and International Scientific Committee.

CODATU XVI will be held in Istanbul, Turkey one of the major cities of the Mediterranean Basin and a place of both rich history and increasing urbanization. The conference aims to bring urban transport commitments to the heart of climate change negotiations and will give to local decision-makers an opportunity to learn about sustainable urban mobility policies and to share their experiences with other city leaders to spread best practices. By gathering scientists and experts in urban transport in developing countries to discuss "climate, energy and air quality challenges", CODATU XVI will also strenghten the message about the mitigation potential of urban transport and the various benefits of energy efficiency in daily mobility.
