The baseline greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for public transport projects is used to determine the initial status of emissions when beginning a planned project. This baseline can be projected with the assumption that no change is made to the current status. The purpose of this projection is to compare the emission status before and after the implementation of a public transport project (bus transit corridors, route optimization, fleet renewal, etc.), and to see what impact it can have on climate change.
