Through the Better Places for People webinar series, World Green Building Council (WorldGBC) aims to create a space for thought leadership and innovative dialogue between leaders in the sustainability movement to leverage  knowledge and expertise, and raise awareness of key issues across the sector. A key focus of this educational series is to promote the ‘redefined’ global, holistic scope for health and wellbeing in the built environment published within WorldGBC’s Health & Wellbeing Framework in November 2020.

The third session of the Better Places for People Webinar Series focused on climate change, considering both the mitigation of emissions, but also the adaptation and resilience for all people to the inevitable forthcoming climate impacts. The two-panel webinar provided insights on the impact of climate change from a health perspective, and challenged participants to consider the opportunity presented by the built environment in providing protection and resilience opportunities. WRI's Clay Nesler spoke on the second panel, Resilience to Health Risks through our Built Environment, which discussed how the built environment can support our resilience and adaptation to forthcoming climate risks.
