Neighborhood Improvement Plans - Engaging the Community

Neighborhood improvement initiatives are not a new concept in India, but they can be improved to more comprehensively benefit citizens. Building on these initiatives is the “Neighborhood Improvement Plan,” which looks at neighborhood improvement in a more integrated manner. This ground-up city planning strategy aims to give local residents greater ownership over their community and encourage them participate in the planning process. This webinar discussed various initiatives such as road safety design and street signage that can be integrated during the planning process. The webinar also included how the Neighborhood Improvement Plan can become a standard planning tool for Indian neighborhoods.
