More information: Hidalgo’s presentation will examine issues surrounding developing clean transport systems and programs, and discuss possible solutions. The webinar will focus on national urban transport policies and programs for financing to help cities address challenges related to developing high-quality and efficient transport infrastructure for sustainable transport systems. Hidalgo will discuss a variety of financing practices currently in place to help decision makers identify suitable paths forward in their local context, as well as two major models of urban transportation financing schemes: Centralized Funding Programs and Decentralized Financing Policies.
Dr. Hidalgo guides the EMBARQ Network’s international team of transport engineers, urban planning specialists, and environmental scientists. The team is involved in sustainable transport and urban development projects in India, Mexico, Brazil, Turkey, the Andean Region, and China.
EMBARQ partners Clean Energy Solutions Center and the Low Emission Development Global Partnership (LEDS GP) are providing this webinar as part of a series focused on planning and financing sustainable, low-carbon urban transportation. The series is comprised of six individual webinars offered between September and December 2013.
