Abhinand Krishnashankar
Bio
Abhinand is a Project and Research Analyst in the Air Quality team. He works on the Clean Air Catalyst and is passionate about urban resilience and inclusive development.
His experience in resilience planning stems from having worked as a research intern at the Global Commission on Adaptation’s Cities and Nature-based Solutions Action Tracks, in addition to the Rockefeller Foundation’s 100 Resilient Cities initiative in Chennai, India. Having identified nature-based solutions for holistic resilience planning in Loiza (Puerto Rico) and Chennai through his Master’s projects, he is interested in exploring pathways towards community-led climate adaptation in an urbanized/urbanizing world. He has presented several conference papers on community property rights in post-disaster coastal regions and equity issues in the governance of public spaces.
Abhinand holds a Master of Urban Planning degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and an MA in Development Studies from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras.
Abhinand also has more than 12 years of training in Indian classical music and has a few stage performances and lecture-demonstrations to his credit. He enjoys cooking and singing.
