Diego Canales
Bio
Diego Canales is a Tools and Data Innovation Associate at WRI Ross Center for Sustainable Cities, where he works on identifying trends related to the future of mobility services and disruptive market services in urban settings, as well as supporting the development of urban planning and mobility tools, data products and coordination under the Research Tools & Economics area for the Cities program.
Prior to WRI he was an Urban Transport Specialist at the World Bank, overseeing several of the new urban mobility initiatives for Mexico and Brazil, focusing on open transport data initiatives paired with open source technologies, intelligent transport systems, transport demand strategies, integrated transport land-use planning, non-motorized initiatives, amongst others.
Diego holds a Master of City Planning from the University of California at Berkeley and a Master in European Integration from the Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona. He enjoys scuba and freediving, and is an avid cyclist, biking everywhere, anywhere.
