Emmett Werthmann
Bio
Emmett is a Research & Engagement Analyst for WRI’s Electric School Bus Initiative. He engages with the U.S. school bus manufacturing industry and conducts research on topics related to the electric school bus supply chain. Previously, he supported WRI’s Global Electric Mobility team researching topics related to vehicle charging, grid infrastructure development and sustainable mobility, where he developed guidance on pole-mounted public EV charging for cities and utilities. Across his work, Emmett is committed to supporting equitable electrification and broader sustainable mobility efforts to complement electric vehicle deployment.
Prior to joining WRI, Emmett worked with Gigawatt Global, a multinational renewable energy company focused on the development and management of utility-scale solar projects in emerging markets.
Emmett holds a B.A. in Geology from The College of Wooster, where he also minored in political science and environmental studies.
In his free time, Emmett enjoys using Capital Bikeshare to get around the city, playing water polo, and exploring farmer’s markets in the D.C. area.
