Lorena is Head of International Cooperation / Senior Manager, Development & Partnerships at WRI Ross Center for Sustainable Cities. In this role, she focuses on unlocking new funding opportunities and leading donor stewardship and engagement for the Cities program.
She joins this position after serving for 10 years as Development Director for WRI Mexico and the emerging office of Colombia, supporting fund development and donor partnerships to propel both country offices' expansion. Lorena played a leadership role, increasing funding consistently and creating a robust portfolio of donors. She has more than 18 years of fundraising experience working with embassies, international cooperation, and corporations. Prior to WRI, Lorena worked with an important philanthropist focused on education and cities. She served in the US Embassy promoting and creating partnerships for Mexico-US cultural projects.
She has a master´s degree in Cultural Management from University of Barcelona (Spain) and, a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Iberoamericana University (Mexico).
