Maanasa is an Equity Intern for NUMO, the New Urban Mobility alliance, hosted by WRI Ross Center for Sustainable Cities.
Maanasa is a formally trained architect turned city designer and planner. She aims to develop her career at the intersection of public sector innovation, strategic design, and technology.
She is currently pursuing her MS in Design and Urban Ecologies at Parsons School of Design, The New School. Before joining The New School, Maanasa worked for Indian Institute for Human Settlements(IIHS, Bangalore) as a researcher. One of the projects she worked on, as a part of IIHS, was a Healthcare Infrastructure Guideline Book for the Government of Karnataka, India. Public health centers across the state used the guidebook to design-build Primary Health centers without having to invest in architects or developers for each project, eventually helping cut costs. As a city design strategist, Maanasa's passion lies in creating equitable design solutions for the growing problems that cities face.
