Head of Country Programmes, Coalition for Urban Transitions


Nidhi is the Head of Country Programmes, and part of the senior management team for the Coalition for Urban Transitions looking after the exciting and growing work in Tanzania, China, Mexico and Ghana. Nidhi is responsible for overseeing and supporting on-going coordination and implementation of the overall country program and ensuring the Coalitions’ global and country programmes are well coordinated and leverage one another. She is also responsible for representing the Coalition’s country work programme – including presenting the results of the work – at major global and regional events and through bilateral meetings, and identifying opportunities to expand the Coalition’s country programme to other rapidly urbanizing countries.

Nidhi brings nearly 15 years of knowledge and experience of working in international development and business consulting and as a NGO practitioner, across a range of organizations including Ricardo Energy & Environment, Save the Children, and KPMG. Nidhi has led programme design, implementation and monitoring and evaluation for a number of bilateral and multilateral donor initiatives across Asia, Africa and Europe including major DFID funded climate-smart development programmes across Africa and Asia. Nidhi is passionate about cities, having grown up in the suburbs of Delhi. Nidhi has been a lead evaluator for the 100 Resilient Cities programme, and has written and contributed to book chapters and planery presentations on multi-level governance, urban environmental governance and equitable urban resilience.

Nidhi holds a Master's degree in environment and sustainable development (with distinction) from the Development Planning Unit, University College London. Her masters dissertation was focused on access to basic services for the urban poor.

Nidhi lives in the outskirts of London with her partner Rob and three year old boy Arvin. I her spare time, she likes to be in nature, go for a swim, do yoga and enjoy art.
