Bio

Nii Darko Darko is a Research Analyst II for the Cities program at WRI Africa based in Accra, Ghana. In his current role, he provides administrative, project coordination and research support to ongoing sustainable transport programs in Accra and Kumasi on projects related to road safety, urban development and planning, public transport, non-motorized transport and urban design.

Prior to joining WRI, Nii Darko was a Programs Coordinator with CTK-Geosys Ltd in Accra where he was in charge of GIS projects, local government revenue enhancement and urban development projects. He has also worked in the Transportation planning sector as a Coordinator for a NMT focused organization.

Nii Darko holds a Bsc in Planning (Settlement option) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana. He has undergone further training in Urban Planning from the City University of New York’s Hunter College.

He has been a team member in various transportation planning projects in Ghana over the past 15 years.

Nii Darko lives in Accra, Ghana with his wife and 2 kids. His interests include bicycle riding and soccer.
