Nitesh Shah is an intern for NUMO, the New Urban Mobility alliance, hosted by WRI Ross Center for Sustainable Cities. His focus is to explore tech-enabled disruption in mobility, like the e-scooter, and its implication on the redefinition of vehicles and streetspace.
Currently, Nitesh is a master’s degree student in Transportation Planning at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and a Graduate Research Assistant under the mentorship of Dr. Chris Cherry. He is working on an innovative state-wide bicycle and pedestrian count research project for the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT). Recently, Nitesh was selected as one of the 50 Traffic Safety Scholars 2019.
Before joining graduate school, Nitesh worked in various high-speed railway design projects in Nepal. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Tribhuvan University, Nepal in 2015.
Nitesh loves to do photography, hike and explore nature.
