Radha is Managing Associate - Research and Practice at EMBARQ India. She is currently involved with extending the work on policy and planning solutions to manage two-wheelers in Indian cities. She will help develop methodologies to evaluate the impact of EMBARQ India’s projects, and conduct research on the social and spatial implications of travel patterns in Bangalore.
Before joining EMBARQ India, Radha was employed as an Urban Planner-Designer at the Center for Infrastructure, Sustainable Transport and Urban Planning (CiSTUP), set up by the Karnataka Government within the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore. Here she was active in carrying out applied research in the areas of urban planning-design, mobility, environmental, policy and governance issues, with a focus on Bangalore city. Prior to this, she has consulted on studies pertaining to intermediate and informal public transport in Indian cities. Radha has been an Associate at a private firm in Bangalore where she gained exposure to a range of urban issues and scales through work on a variety of urban planning, design and management projects. Other past roles have included freelance architect and research assistant and facilitator at the Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology in Bangalore. Radha has also volunteered with Hasiru Usiru, a citizens group in Bangalore involved in advocacy and activist efforts in the areas of environment and mobility. She is a member of Sustainable Urban Mobility Network (SUM Net) India.
Radha holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the Institute of Environmental Design, Gujarat and a Master’s in Urban Design from the School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi.
