Get Turkey Cycling: Project Report

In 2019, World Resources Institute (WRI) Turkey Sustainable Cities launched the "Get Turkey Cycling!" project, funded by the European Union and in partnership with the Dutch Cycling Embassy, to promote cycling as a commuting mode in Turkey's cities. The team worked with the municipalities of İzmir, Eskişehir and Lüleburgaz in developing active communication campaigns encouraging urban cycling. Fieldwork in the Netherlands with the Dutch Cycling Embassy helped the team and the pilot municipalities build capacity and harness Dutch know-how in promoting and sustaining a culture of cycling.

This report aims to provide insight and help guide civil society organizations and local governments that want to support and improve cycling as an urban commuting mode.
